The Southwest School of Art and Craft, San Antonio, Texas, is presenting The Universe Next Door, an exhibition of thirty photographs by Abelardo Morell in its contemporary Russell Hill Rogers galleries from September 17 through November 8, 2009. This exhibition traces the magic that Morell finds in ordinary objects, everyday scenes, and grand landscapes. In addition, during the exhibition, Southwest School is hosting viewings of The Shadow of the House, a 74 minute documentary film describing Morell’s life and work created by Emmy nominated cinematographer Allie Humenuk.
